Privacy Notice

Dear User,

Fondazione E.A. Fiera Internazionale di Milano (hereinafter also “Fondazione Fiera di Milano”), as data controller, provides this notice regarding the processing of the personal data of users who browse the website: www.accademiafieramilano.it (the “Website”), pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) No. 679/2016 on the protection of personal data (the “Regulation”).

This notice applies only to the Website and not to any other websites that the user may access via links.

1. Data Controller

3. Categories of data, purposes of processing and legal basis

The following data will be processed, with the support of IT tools, solely for the purposes and on the legal bases indicated below:

  1. Registration data: These data are requested when registering on the Website, including via IT tools and procedures, and may be processed by the Controller for the following purposes:
    1. i. to allow the User to access the Website, including restricted areas, for purposes strictly connected with the provision of online services, in particular to respond to the User’s requests to receive informational materials, subscribe to newsletters, and apply for admission to courses/masters organised by Fondazione Fiera di Milano. In such cases, specific notices pursuant to Article 13 of the Regulation will be provided to the User in the relevant sections of the Website;
    2. ii. subject to the User’s consent, for: (i) direct marketing purposes by sending promotional material and/or commercial communications through traditional contact systems (such as postal mail, telephone calls via an operator) and automated systems (such as email or SMS), and (ii) profiling purposes, to better understand the User’s choices/preferences regarding the activities carried out by Accademia Fiera Milano. In these cases as well, the User will receive specific notices pursuant to Article 13 of the Regulation.
  2. Browsing data: The IT systems and software procedures used to operate the Website acquire, during their normal operation, certain data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.
    This information is not collected to be associated with identified data subjects; however, by its very nature it could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow Users to be identified.
    This category includes IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by Users connecting to the Website, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numeric code indicating the status of the response given by the server (success, error, etc.), and other parameters relating to the User’s operating system and IT environment.
    These data are used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the Website and to monitor its correct functioning.

5. Data recipients

Your data may be disclosed, strictly in connection with and in a manner compatible with the purposes set out above, to the following categories of recipients:

  • third-party companies where students will carry out internships;
  • third parties who, as data processors, perform specific tasks on behalf of Fondazione Fiera di Milano, including providers of IT, technological, administrative and/or accounting services; the contact details of the processors may be requested at: accademia@fondazionefiera.it.

6. Transfer of personal data to third countries or international organisations

Users’ personal data may be transferred to non-EU countries (“Third Countries”) to entities that, on behalf of the Controller and as data processors, carry out certain processing operations in accordance with the purposes set out in paragraph 3 above.

Transfers of personal data to Third Countries take place in compliance with the Regulation (e.g., through the execution of standard data protection clauses approved by the European Commission or in accordance with the Privacy Shield in the case of transfers to the United States).

7. Data retention period

Your data will be retained for the duration necessary to provide the requested services and, where you have provided consent, for the time necessary to pursue profiling and marketing purposes, in compliance with the retention periods prescribed by the Data Protection Authority and/or by law. In any event, statutory limitation periods applicable to rights and obligations related to the processing carried out will be respected.

8. Data subject rights

We inform you that, as a data subject, you have the right to obtain from the Controller:

Right of access:

confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning you are being processed and, where that is the case, the right to obtain, among other things, access to your personal data and information about the purposes of the processing, the categories of personal data concerned, and the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the personal data have been or will be disclosed.

Right to rectification:

(i) the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you without undue delay and (ii) the completion of personal data if incomplete.

Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”):

the erasure of personal data concerning you without undue delay (the Controller is obliged to erase personal data without undue delay in the cases provided for by Article 17 of the Regulation).

Right to restriction of processing

restriction of processing in the cases set out in Article 18 of the Regulation.

Right to data portability

to receive, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, the personal data concerning you and in our possession; and the right to transmit those data to another controller without hindrance from the controller to which the personal data have been provided, in the cases set out in Article 20 of the Regulation.

Right to object to processing carried out pursuant to Article 6(1)(e) or (f):

to object, at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you pursuant to Article 6(1)(e) or (f), including profiling based on those provisions.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) if you believe that the processing concerning you violates Regulation (EU) No. 679/2016.

At any time, you also have the right to withdraw your consent given and/or to object to processing for direct marketing purposes and related profiling activities pursuant to Article 21(2) of the Regulation by completing the form available at:

The objection and/or withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

9. Nature of the provision of data and consequences of failure to provide data

Except for browsing data, the User is free to provide or not provide the personal data requested in the registration forms for the services available on the Website. In these forms, some data may be marked as mandatory; such data are necessary in order to provide the requested service. If these data are not provided, the requested service cannot be provided.

As already indicated at the time of any provision of data, pursuant to Article 13 of the Regulation, a notice is provided to the data subject, including information on the purposes of the processing, whether the provision of data is mandatory or optional, the consequences of failure to provide the data, and the subjects or categories of subjects to whom the data are disclosed.
