Francesca Foglieni
Module Leader in Event Design
Francesca Foglieni is a service designer with more than 15 years of experience in research, education, and consultancy within the design field. Her background, developed across academia, civil society, and the corporate sector, has enabled her to build an in-depth understanding and a multifaceted vision of design as a driver of change, with a particular focus on participatory approaches.
Holding a PhD in Design, she has extensively studied issues related to service evaluation, ultimately defining a method to integrate evaluation into service design practice and to support organizations in developing solutions grounded in concrete evidence. On this topic, she is co-author of the book Designing Better Services: A Strategic Approach from Design to Evaluation, published by Springer. She is currently part of the P2P Lab Research Collective and collaborates with the Design Department of Politecnico di Milano as a project manager in EU-funded projects.
Furthermore, after coordinating the University Master in Service Design at POLI.design and teaching for several years as an adjunct professor at the School of Design of Politecnico di Milano, since 2023 she has been directing the Executive Course in Service Design for Systemic Change, organized by POLI.design.
